Carl Charlesworth kicked off with a silent routine set to opera music, where 3 previously borrowed rings were wrapped in tissue and made to disappear and eventually reappear in a glasses case. We were then treated to a cups and balls routine with steel balls with a finale  apearance of 3 eggs, and the 3 rings appearing in a Fabergé egg.

 

 

Carl wins Award: June 2008

Carl Charlesworth wins 1st Place for Technical Ability in magic in the W.A.M Close-up Magician of the Year Competition 2008/2009. Carl started his act by producing a live goldfish in a glass from seemingly nowhere. Following this was a 4 coin magic effect, where the coins were placed in his hand in full view of the audience, only to vanish without a trace. After this Carl had someone think of a card, and with a little humorous mentalism, was able to reveal the thought of card. The finale was a classic of magic, a unique cups and balls routine where, at the end, a glass bubble appeared under a brass cup.
